Create a Zen Atmosphere, Right Outside your Door
With the relaxing sights and sounds of a pondless waterfall
“It makes the whole garden area come alive, whatever the season. After a long day, a couple of minutes contemplating it restores my equanimity. It is a source of serenity for me.”
— Mike, FallingWater Scapes’ Client
“We asked for a water feature and got a work of art. We couldn’t be happier with the results.”
— Peter & Wendy Muellers

From bubbling brooks to cascading waterfalls, here are some previews of pondless water features we’ve built. To see full showcases of each project, be sure to visit our main portfolio page.
THE PONDLESS SYSTEM
How It Works
Every pondless waterfall / stream has an underground reservoir that supplies the entire feature with recirculated water. Camouflaged beneath a layer of rock and gravel, this reservoir is completely out of site and replaces the need for a pond. In the New England climate, pondless features can run for several weeks without needing to be refilled. Furthermore, we design even bigger reservoirs that aid in rainwater capture, which allow these features to be completely self-sustaining. If you’re looking to create a highly sustainable landscape, a pondless waterfall with an enlarged reservoir is the perfect solution.
ADDED BENEFITS
A Few More Benefits of
Pondless Water Features
Dense Neighborhoods
The sound of a stream or waterfall can help mask surrounding noise while also making your yard feel more private.
Busy Streets
Does nearby traffic find its way into your backyard? Cut road noise with the peacefulness of falling water.
Wildlife
Rushing water acts as a homing-beacon for all types of animals — especially birds!
Small Children
Streams and waterfalls are very shallow and provide a safe space for kids to play and explore the natural world.
CONSTRUCTION COSTS
Pondless Waterfall Pricing
Establishing a project budget can be challenging. To make things easier, we’ve published our pricing to help you understand the cost of a professionally built pondless water feature. View the pricing table below and visit our portfolio page to see examples of different size streams & waterfalls. As a general rule of thumb, you can use the following equation to estimate the rough cost of your build: Price = ($1,500) x (Stream Length). For example, if you wanted to create a 10-foot-long pondless feature and plugged 10 feet into the equation, it would approximate that build at $15,000. While these estimates are fairly accurate, they don’t account for everything – like poor access, excess site restoration, extremely steep slopes, and other ‘x’ factors requiring additional work.
Waterfall & Stream Length | Price Range | |
---|---|---|
Small: 5-13 feet long | $5,500 - $19,500 | |
Medium: 14-26 feet long | $20,000 - $39,500 | |
Large: 27-39 feet long | $40,000 - $59,500 | |
Extra Large: 40-100 feet long | $60,000 - $150,000 |
