Commemorative Fountains for NuPath, Inc.
WOBURN, MASSACHUSETTS
About the Project
NuPath Inc., a non-profit that provides housing and day programs for those with disabilities, hired us to design two water features at their headquarters in Woburn. The first fountain, called “Reflections,” is designed to honor those who were once part of their community but have since passed on. For this feature, we positioned large boulders (some weighing 2,000lbs) over a 1,200-gallon reservoir to create a natural series of falls and pools.

Between the stones, we also incorporated 3 separate spillway bowls to add more interest and drama to the waterfalls. On the other side of the building, we created a smaller fountain known as “Renewals,” which is dedicated to the staff who continue to invigorate NuPath despite the challenges that accompany this noble line of work. This feature, located in a more intimate setting, consists of one spillway bowl tucked between several smaller boulders (ranging from 50lbs to 300lbs). To top the space off, we planted a red-leaf Japanese maple that will eventually grow out over the tranquil fountain and adjacent seating area.
IN THE WORDS OF DANIEL HARRISON, CEO OF NUPATH INC.
“The nonprofit organization I run hired Jonathan Marston of FallingWater Scapes to design and build two memorial water features in the small greenspace behind our headquarters in Woburn. From our initial face to face meeting through the entirety of the project, culminating in the official dedication of the two fountains on October 15th (which Jonathan attended), the experience could not have been more satisfying or rewarding for our entire community.”
“Jonathan is young and ambitious, but thoughtful and kind, and exercising a level of emotional intelligence far beyond his years. He really listened to us, and demonstrated a strong commitment to understanding our vision for the project. So much more than a Master Certified Aquascape Contractor, Jonathan filled the roles of chief architect, creative advisor, lead engineer and on-site contractor. Our total experience with FallingWater Scapes was outstanding in every way, and during the few luminous and memorable weeks he spent on-site, Jonathan Marston became a beloved member of the NuPath family… someone we now call “friend!” I continue to receive ongoing positive feedback regarding the project outcome, and in a matter of weeks have witnessed the new fountains’ positive impact on our larger community.”
“I cannot say enough about our overall satisfaction with the project outcome, and enthusiastically endorse and recommend Jonathan Marston and FallingWater Scapes for any residential or commercial project. This guy is special, and will bring your dreams to life!”
