Large Urn Trio

NEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS

About the Project

Back in 2020, we were brought in by Cindy Stumpo of C. Stumpo Development to create a head-turning water feature at a luxury home she was building in Newton. Given the size of the house and the broadness of the landscape, we recommended creating something big that would be in scale with the surroundings and catch people’s attention from far away. Naturally, we landed on a fountain concept that would rise out of the landscape: slate-stacked urns.

  • The tallest urn sits over 5-feet tall with a width of 3-feet and is clearly visible from indoor vantage points. We anchored the trio to the landscape visually by bringing in a handpicked load of large, character boulders (the largest of which weighing 2,000lbs). The entire display sits atop a 2,000-gallon underground reservoir that supplies water to the feature 365 days a year. To see it running in winter, check out this video that Cindy and I put together BELOW.
